Frequently Asked Question's

I am often asked many questions at the beginning of the process and during communication's with my brides, below is a list of common questions and answers which I hope will help.

Steaming

Q: How Long does it take to steam a wedding dress?

A: This depends on the style and complexity of the dress, it will usually take between 60 - 90 mins.

Q: Is it ok to steam my wedding dress on the morning of my wedding?

A: Yes, steaming your dress should be done as close to the wedding day as possible, so the morning of the wedding is perfect. Steaming the wedding dress won't make it
wet, it will be a little damp from the steam however it will only take10 minutes to fully dry. Leaving the dress odour free and looking it's absolute best.

Q: Will my dress become wet when steaming?

A: No, it won't become wet, but it will be a little damp during the steaming process, the wedding dress takes 10 minutes to fully dry after steaming has been completed.

Q: Can I add bridesmaids steaming on the day?

A: It's not ideal, this is due to timings, adding a bridesmaids dress on the day can add 30 mins of steaming time which can have an impact on overall timings on the day. I would need to know in advance so I can factor this in to my arrival time.

Q:What time do you arrive for your night before package?

A: I will arrive after 5pm due to other work commitments, but I will liaise and confirm a time to fit in with you and your pre-wedding arrangement's.

Q: Do you need to be in a separate room for steaming the dresses?

A: Ideally yes, this is due to the steam and heat that is created and how this could affect your hair and makeup the morning of the wedding. A separate room is ideal but if the bathroom is large enough I have been known to use this space.

Dressing

Q: What should I do with my dress on my wedding day.

A: If you have booked my services, you will not need to worry about this, when I arrive I will unpack your dress, I will professionally hang, steam and prepare the wedding dress in preparation for you wearing it, whether this being the evening before or the morning of the wedding.

Q: Do you supply a rail to hang the dresses on.

A: Unfortunately I am unable to provide a rail, most venues will have sufficient hanging space, but it is worth asking your venue/wedding co-ordinator about where you will be able to hang your dress, or if you will be getting ready at home, have a think about this, I have known brides to purchase a cheap rail off amazon.

Q: Would you be able to help my mum with her outfit?

A: Of course, as long as they are getting ready at the same venue as the bride, I am able to assist the mothers and bridesmaids into their outfits. I am also a Milliner and am able to style hats and headpieces correctly.

Q: If there is a problem on the day with any of the dresses can you fix it?

A: Yes, don't panic! This is one of the many benefits of having me at your wedding, I am a couture dress maker and there is nothing that I have come across that I can't fix, I come fully equipped to solve any fashion related emergency on the day.

Q: Will you be able to help the men with their ties and button holes?

A: Yes, as long as the men are getting ready at the same venue, I am on hand to assist the men with the finishing touches.
