From Bridal Dresser to Horse Whisperer! 🐴👰

A the owner of My Bridal Dresser, I get to experience some truly magical wedding days, but every now and then, a moment comes along that I know I’ll never forget.

One of those moments happened at Wasing Park, where I had the absolute pleasure of supporting my bride throughout her special day. But the highlight? Helping my bride fulfil a dream she thought might never happen — getting her beautiful wedding dress and herself onto her beloved horse!

On the morning Katie was completely unaware that her sister had been plotting to have her horse brought up to the venue, Dad had been sent off on 'an errand' (to deliver flowers so that the horse could be dressed for the wedding) and there was that one friend that couldnt make the wedding.....

Or so Katie thought!

After Katie and her groom had completed their confetti walk, a close friend appeared, walking up the drive towards them… with her horse! 🐴❤️

It was the most wonderful surprise, and seeing Katie’s reaction was priceless.

Having grown up around horses and various animals, I felt completely comfortable helping Katie onto her horse. Although, I have to admit, there were a few challenges! The wedding dress had a very full and long train, and getting all that beautiful fabric safely positioned while mounting a horse required a little creativity.

There was also a rather important safety matter, making sure that nobody stood or walked directly behind the horse in all the excitement — horses can react, and standing directly behind one is something you should never, ever do!

Thankfully, with a little teamwork, plenty of care and some careful dress arranging, we got Katie safely onto her horse. I then positioned her dress so it flowed beautifully, creating the most stunning photograph.

It was clear from the outset that pets were going to play a big part in Katie & Matt's wedding when i arrived on the morning and started to unpack the veil. As I opened the box I found a beautiful hadwritten note from the maker, describing how she had embroidered the paw print of the Bride's late dog onto the veil, ensuring there would be a piece of him with her throughout the day.

For me, this is exactly why I love what I do. It’s not simply about making sure a wedding dress looks perfect. It’s about being there, noticing the little things that mean so much to the Bride, solving any unexpected challenges and, sometimes, helping a bride make a dream come true.

And on Katie’s wedding day, I went from bridal dresser to horse helper — and I loved every minute of it! 🐴✨
